The Alpine Ski Learning Center is not like your typical ski school. While technical elements are certainly taught, the emphasis is on fun and getting to know your ski pro on a personal level. The learning area, named "Bungy," has been specifically engineered to provide novice skiers the perfect steepness for learning to control a reasonable speed without being overwhelmed.

Most of our pros is a certified Professional Ski Instructor of America^®, so you'll always be in good hands. Private and semi-private instruction is available, as well as a number of special interest programs for adults and for children.

Nordic

The cross-country ski pros at The Balsams are certified by the Professional Ski Instructors of America, and their low-impact instruction is geared to guests who have never before skied. An area dedicated to teaching the basics is laid out over the hotel grounds, with classes moving onto the trail system when skills improve. Advanced techniques are taught on some of the most exciting trails in the country. Instruction is available for all ages and abilities.
