Winter Recreation & Entertainment

Winter provides countless opportunities to explore the White Mountains. The BALSAMS boasts over 75 kilometers of excellent Cross Country trails, in addition to 16 unique alpine trails. Snowshoeing and ice skating are also popular winter activities. Guided hikes & group ski lessons are also available.

If playing in the snow isn't your style, wine tastings, culinary demonstrations, movies & billiard tournaments await. Live Apres Ski entertainment & Hors D'Ouevres in the Tavern are sure to bring everyone together around the stone fireplace. The Rick Erwin Trio & solo pianists will provide dinner music in the Dining Room. Select dates in 2009 will also feature speakers from across the country, with topics from mountain climbing, to New England history.

Summer Recreation & Entertainment

During the Summer, the Ballroom hosts a variety of entertainment for our guests. The Rick Erwin Orchestra, accomplished comedians, hypnotists, illusionists, and a very entertaining staff show ensure there is never a dull evening. Enjoy the romantic "Music & Dancing Under the Stars" with the Rick Erwin Orchestra, on the front lawn, near the gazebo. Movies, bingo, board games, and billiard tables are always available. There are also numerous outdoor activites from mountain biking, to sitting by the pool, to hiking Table Rock.
