About the Horses

Lost Nation Tours’ horses are energetic and well trained.  Lost Nation has Morgans, Standardbreds, Hackney's and Percherons available and many of the horses can be ridden and driven.  The Standardbreds are adopted retired racehorses that were in need of a new home and have undergone months of rehabilitation, to be re-trained for their new jobs as pleasure riding and driving horses.  These are often classy, athletic animals that after years of racing deserve a good life in their retirement.

About Lost Nation Tours and Leonarda Joost

Leonarda has 25 years of experience in a wide range of equestrian disciplines including dressage, fox-hunting, horse racing, carriage driving and therapeutic riding and has worked with some of the top trainers in the U.S.  Currently, she is running a trail riding and instructional program which also includes carriage driving, called Lost Nation Tours, which offers quality riding and driving experiences both to the Balsams’ clientele and to the public.  She will be adding a riding program for youth at risk and disadvantaged youth in the near future.

Rates
Trail riding will only be available on the weekends. An intermediate level of riding is required for trail riding.  Private lessons are available for beginners.
Prices:  $90 for a 1 1/2- 2 hr. trail ride
             $90 for a 1 hour private lesson
